COGNITEX is a small, opinionated software company. We build AI-native operating layers for industries that already have CRMs but cannot extract intelligence from them — roofing contractors, civil construction, government auditing, occupational safety, and legal offices.
What we build
Each product we ship has the same three properties: (1) it sits on top of an existing system of record without trying to replace it, (2) the AI is grounded in the customer’s real data — never generic, never hallucinated, (3) it works on a phone. The owner-operator who installed our software last week opens it on their drive home and runs the business from the cab of their truck.

How we work
- Basic-basics first. Every stage of every product ships the smallest deployable thing that proves the next one is feasible. Validate. Move on.
- Infrastructure for the future. Schemas, monorepo layout, and engine-vs-transport boundaries are designed for what comes in 12 months — even when the current stage doesn’t need them.
- Hosting portability. Our engine never imports from a transport library. The same code deploys to Fly.io, Vercel, or Render without changes.
- Bilingual by default. English-first, Spanish opt-in — at the database, in the UI, and in AI responses. The AI detects the language of the operator’s message and answers accordingly.
The team
COGNITEX is led by Benito Cabrera, a software engineer based in Quito, Ecuador. The technical work is done in close collaboration with Anthropic Claude (Opus and Sonnet) running through a Telegram-first development workflow — itself one of the products we ship.
